PROJECT SUNLIGHT

Project sunlight is a design/artistic proposal for the city of Toronto to utilise blank spaces for art rather than ads, with a goal to adress the lack of sunlight experienced during the winter months. The project surrounds a creative solution to make Toronto a more positive environment during the winter season where very little sunlight is experienced. It proposes to project scenes that are reminiscent of sunlight, warmth and serenity on blank spaces around the city during the evening hours from 4:30pm – 9:00pm. These scenes would be displayed within public spaces with high population densities to replace the sunlight which would be present at the time during the spring and summer months. The project explores how the change in Torontos visual environment could positively impact mental health affected by seasonal changes.

A series of designs visually illustrate the possibility proposed concept if applied/accepted by the city.
